HumanityHow Could My Heart Have Been So Hard?

    I cried a little today.

I got a recent issue of "Habitat World" - which arrives in the mail if you contribute to

    Habitat for Humanity.

I didn't see a single plastic smile anywhere in the issue. I think if a stranger gave you a decent place to live, you'd be smiling too.

It had a picture of a young Polish girl towards the end. She wasn't hawking magazines that

condemn everyone to doom. She just beamed from ear to ear about having a nice school

    and home to live in.

How could my heart ever been so hard not to understand the simple beauty of this?

I have those moments too metatron. I'd probably be a crybaby anyway, but my tears always bring me back to the contrast between me *now*, and me *then*, or more specifically, how I view "them" now, as opposed to how I viewed "them" then.

Life, comes only one way -- fresh: right here, right now. As Witnesses we seldom touched Life, as we were always reaching past it into an imagined future. That's sad. That's really sad. j
