I understand from Living History that the tradition of having a day off on Christmas Day has pagan origins.
Should jws there4 take days off on XMAS day etc and work on those days.

LOL.. well when I was a JW, I always did.. Never even thought about it not being an ok thing to do.
My dad was on a construction team with 2 other JWs. I think I remember them working holidays, weather permitting.
If holidays conflicted with work days, meaning if the store I worked at was going to be open on New Years day or Easter and they coincided with my days off, I volunteered to work. Later on, I didn't volunteer because at dealerships they are so slow and all your friends off work doing something more fun, so I would rather just have the day off anyway.
better yet, I remember in my congregation, some brothers and sisters, using there sick days at work and then going in service, and were not sick, but said they had to uyse them up. hhhhhhmmmmmmmm, contradicts itself doesn't it.
I thought they used the days off to sell magazines .
