I just received a message from Mr. Flipper's wife on Facebook, and they're fine. The earthquake was quite a distance from them. They say hello to everyone. Apparently there's some difficulty in him posting here...uncertain of the details. But anyway, they're fine and appreciate being asked about.

They said one guy had a 10 - 15 second warning on his phone ,phew not much time but maybe enough to get under something solid

Is Flipper himself on Facebook? I’d love to reestablish contact with him. I always enjoyed his posts. Maybe one day this covid thing will blow over and my wife and I can join the gang at one of his famous Apostafests. 😎
