WT INC derives a steady stream of income from the "kingdom" Halls the took out of the hands of the builder founder congregations.

Why sell ? do they anticipate that the stream will continue even if the asset is gone?

Why would a congregation with a central and near Hall, not be better o,f to buy the place from WT Inc, mortgage it, if needed for the purchase, and carry the monthly payments and keep living in peace? and with a property with rising values?

Gutless spineless Elders beholden to their master, appointers would never do that for the sheep.

Actually, as they sell off property and have to cash flow through interest on investments, or dividends, or cash donations, they are heading to a crisis, but more slowly.

Imagine if your house were paid for, sold for $300,000

If you used to pay off debt and monthly expenses, eventually you be in the hole again if you had no other source of income, wages, income from rental property, a contracted amount of donations, etc.

The WTS is not going to survive without cash flow, in their case hopefully from donations, more from not such rich members but who are consistent in donating.

The WTS is not going to survive without cash flow,

b: the lake side beancounters probably expect that the congregation wich is moved to a multi-cong. hall will continue to contribute a pace, even though the set up they are moving into is already fully financed.

Yea, selling a house, exchanging it for money, with falling interest rates and rising real estate prices?

you better have a extraordinary strategy.

The CO commented strongly about donations falling off at least once. No mention that brother " fell In to a pile of money" left.

At a convention a GB speaker mentioned how charity was keeping up despite grim economy I thought maybe he meant it for a minute, that we were taking care of each other, then he commented that the money coming in to " the least of christ's brothers " hadn't slackened. Agreed.

Selling off the family silver to eat keeps starvation at bay for a little while, but eventually, the silver can't help but run out.

A common sign of an organization in decline is when they sell assets to support continuing operations. This is an unsustainable model.

    Precisely.

One particular aspect of the WTS that I hope more and more of the skeptics are finally starting to realize is that it is a corporation, i.e. a business...

...and that even though it's a hard idea to wrap one's head around, millions - even billions - of dollars in assets are not a guarantee of a business's survival, because one of the fundamental aspects of a successful business is its dependence on regular and increasing revenue input to function, regardless of its holdings...

...i.e. it needs to constantly grow, in order to survive.

And everything I've seen indicates the WTS's "business model" is very much patterned after that overarching framework.

Constant asset consolidation, product output reduction, widespread staff dismissals, and steadily increasing legal expenses do not facilitate regular and increasing revenue input, however.

    Kind of the opposite, actually.

Yeah, but the OP deals with the local fallout not the misquoted "least of Christ's brother's"- run and running down business.

The local congregation that has it's self-build hall sold from under them might be a very healthy entity, sending steady donations and tens of thousands $$ in accumulated, " excess" bank balances as gifts regularly to wt Inc.

Heartless and gutless so - called shepherds sacrificing the wellbeing of the real ( by bible definition ) "christ's sisters and brothers" to cow-tow to the power of their wt inc appointers and co controllers.
