So, Where Are These God Haters Then?

Reading the JW's literature one could easily be forgiven for thinking that the whole world is united against God, and as such, according to witness teachings, is only deserving of death.

Singing "Kingdom Melodies" would also lead a person to the same conclusion. "Who is on the Lords side", "Then they will know", "Take sides with Jehovah", "Marching as to victory", "Living up to the name", all these songs are designed to engender a feeling of being part of a god-loving organisation that is united against a common enemy.

The "common enemy syndrome" is used to good effect during wars, so that a nation will pull harder and endure greater deprivations more willingly.

Common enemies arouse passion within one's soul as every soccer fan experiences. Flying one's colours in the face of the enemy - opposing team supporters - appeals to our most basic tribal instincts. JW's literally "fly their colours" by the wearing of assembly badges, touting colourful leaflets, rousing and warlike singing of songs - again in stadia - unites them in much the same way.

Of course, for all of this to work, they need a common enemy. One can almost imagine the Judge's input: "Hmmm. I've got it! The common enemy will be God-haters. Everyone who is not a witness must be a God-hater. So every non-witness is our enemy."

So the average JW believes in an "issue", Gods name must be "vindicated", Satan must be shown to be a "liar", haters of Jehovah must be destroyed.

Once one steps aside from the furore of witness paranoia for God-by-proxy, it becomes patently obvious that the idea of the world being full of God haters is ludicrous. When was the last time that you heard someone say that they hated God?

Surely the most common emotion regarding God is a "If God exists why doesn't he fix things" sentiment? Where is the hatred in that? Isn't that a perfectly reasonable question?

Certainly, no-one in their right mind would hate their Creator if they were convinced of his existence. JW's whipping up of the R & F against the world on Gods so-called behalf, serves only to keep another years assembly fodder in a state of bewildered expectation.
