I think some of those chemicals got to someone's head! Man, talk about too much time on your hands! I wonder how much that person had to inhale to think that up. You could take just about any subject and apply that theory to it.

I've had some really bizarre memories that I felt very foolish talking about in therapy years ago. And I've also had some posts where I've cringed because of the way it sounds, most recently the satanic ritual thread. I've often wondered if this how I sound sometimes. I think I probably do.
Well if so, it wouldn't be the first time and it probably won't be the last. When I was a kid, I was a good little JW and preached to all my classmates who naturally thought me a very strange weirdo. I've come to the conclusion that I am a strange person. I chalk that up to being a Witness for 18 years (strange religion) and growing up in a incestuous and dysfunctional (and very strange) family.
Growing up, my big hope for the New System was that I would be normal, i.e. just like everyone else. Now I know there will be no paradise earth where we all live happily ever after.
Ah well, maybe in the next life.

Big Tex: No, you don't sound like that. I hope you realise that if I thought you did, I would tell you. When I said in that thread it sounded like you were trying to deal with those memories in a rational way, I meant it. I rarely do 'nice' for nice's sake.
I don't know you Tex, but I'm curious. I don't have an abusive background, but I know that what helped me most was having goals; not for doing an extra hour in field service or anything like that, goals for ME. Sometimes having somewhere to go in life is the only thing that allows you to get away from where you have been.
... and remember, 'normal' people are boring!
