First off: thanks to Prudence for sending me this link:

    http://www.chihuly.com

I have to admit, over the last few days/past week, there's nothing like a good link to unique and interesting artwork to help you, get 'through' a difficult moment.

    Mr. Chihuly's glasswork, is incredible.

The more and more I would delve deeply into his website, I would become mesmerized by it.

The colours, the craftmanship, and 'Chihuly' trademark, were simply 'BRILLIANT'!

I recommend this site. Take time out, while you are having your tea/coffee and enjoy this incredible website, which does not do justice to the 'real thing', but it certainly gives you an on-line sampling.

    Simply: beautiful

Ray, I saw his recent exhibit last month In SanAntonio. I have loved his work for years and to actually stand there and see it was wonderful. I also took my GirlScout troop and they loved the art too. His designs are great. They also showed a film about his months travelling to various glass factories. It was fantastic.

I have collected murano glass for several years. Murano is an island just off Venice. That's where he got that fluid design theme going. He still adores Venice and did a fabulous outdoor exhibit there.

I often feel like I have no special talent, singing, playing an instument or painting...etc

And then I see a guy painting pictures with a broom ....WOW...what's wrong with me.....I think there are people who throw their bodies covered in paint onto a canvas and people buy it as well.

I gotta start being more creative.

    thanks, rayzor

Been looking through art websites since I got on the net, mostly galleries.

I've seen a couple pics of this guy's work, didn't know who he was, and this website will bring me a lot of joy.

we're all creative - it's just a matter of opening up to the possibility

take my example, finally started drawing at 40, sold my first sculpture at 41. Sold every piece since.

find your niche or your passion, play with it, enjoy

(ps, you don't have to be an 'artist' in the traditional sense to be creative)

I love Chihuly! I count myself very lucky to have seen his installations in person---he is amazing! So much texture, so much light and color...it's all breath taking and I totally agree--tranquil and beautiful!
