This court case has been ongoing for the last couple of months - seems like the first verdicts came out at the end of last week - with more expected shortly.

Man found guilty of raping and detaining succession of women
A man accused of torturing, raping and detaining women he lived with over more than two decades has been found guilty of a raft of charges.
The 52-year-old's trial heard allegations that he physically and psychologically abused a succession of women he lived with on the NSW Central Coast between 1988 and 2014.
A jury found the man guilty of 10 rape charges and eight count of detaining for advantage in the NSW District Court on Friday afternoon. But the jury have not yet reached a verdict on three other counts of indecent assault.
The man, who was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church, was accused of raping women with household objects, forcing them to eat their dinners off the floor, and hog-tying them and placing them face down in a bath filled with water.

Man in court accused of raping, detaining, assaulting female partners
The man, who can not be named for legal reasons, has been charged with 10 counts of sexual intercourse without consent, three counts of indecent assault and eight counts of detain for advantage allegedly committed on the NSW Central Coast.
At one stage, two of the man's partners were living in the same house with him. He allegedly owned the only keys to the house, kept the door deadlocked and forbid the women from leaving the house together. He forced them to sexually touch each other.
The charges relate to seven female victims, six of whom were in a relationship with the man, and one of their daughters. The man has pleaded not guilty to all the charges and his trial is expected to last eight weeks before a jury in the Downing Centre District Court.

What a disgusting and vile creature! It would be interesting to know about his JW background - not that it would change much.

The report says he "was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church" so I assume it must have some relevance to his offending.

Unknown is whether he was first "found out' or confessed his crimes to elders or was a late convert to JW organization. Exposed and convicted sex offenders are notorious for "finding God" but ultimately, even those who have done so, do not necessarily stop their offending behaviour.

Reading those accounts in the Sydney Morning Herald by this journalist Melanie Kembrey of the treatment this once Jehovahs Witness inflicted on so many women beggars belief ,it seems so unbelievable.Its hard to comprehend that such a situation could go on for such a long time with so many victims.

Was this case reported on by any other media ? Just curious.

Hi All,

Could someone tell me what the heck is going on in Australia? Why so many victims there or is the media.

What boggles the mind all this stuff going on in Australia but nothing in the US, yet the Russian ban of JW's got press.

You know what is sad. In our society sexual abuse of children is handled with kit gloves, but in the Prison Society, this is not tolerated, if it's found out that was your crime, they name you short eyes and you will be dealt with accordingly. Even hard core criminals look down on child abuse.

So what does that say about mankind?

A Central Coast man who raped and tortured a succession of women over more than two decades has been sentenced to at least 27 years in jail.
The 53-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found guilty of 55 charges relating to the physical, sexual and psychological abuse of women he lived with between 1988 and 2014.
The man, who was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, was accused of raping the women with household objects and detaining them.
Justice Huggett said the degree of violence was a relevant consideration in the sentence and that the offender was "frightening, controlling and undermining each victim's sense of security".
The court heard that while in custody, the man had been verbally aggressive towards visitors and nursing staff.
