i have just gone to the pub. I was dragged along by a family member that never initiates a pub visit, why? Pokémon. Whilst there we noticed that passers by were all tied to their phones singly or in groups. They were engrossed in Pokémon.
The game has been in this country (UK) for under a week but already seems to have turned huge numbers into zombies. WTF?
It's nuts. Drive round town here and there are people walking out into the street looking that their phones (more than usual). Kids walking everywhere - it gets them moving at least.
Our youngest takes the dog for a walk nearly every night to go find them ... she doesn't know what they are but loves them!
My husband had three encounters last night, while on his way to the grocery store, and back home (store is about 5 minutes driving from where we live). He was almost in three different accidents, because the drivers in front of him just stopped their car, and jumped out, looking for Pokemon. He asked one person what they were doing, and that's what they told him. I too hope this fad dies down soon.
The cops were out in force the first day it was released here with lots of drivers pulled over. I think they knew what was going to happen and planned to clamp down on it (thank god).
