So my 14 yr old son and I are sitting discussing the EU election vote, and joking around that the we could see a future with Donald Trump and Boris Johnson being the UK and US leaders. We were swapping pictures and jokes from facebook.
But his dad is sitting there waiting until we leave, and comes out with "Well Daniel 2.44" which reads.........
"And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed onto any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite."
So me and my son just look at each other and smirk. I so wanted to say something like " So this kingdom that was set up in 1914, more than 100 years ago is using the EU vote to finally crush all the kingdoms of the earth? What has this kingdom done for JWs this last 100 years?"
But I had restraint. My son later told me that his dad is calling me an apostate, hopefully his dad will have to shun him too, because his is inactive and got removed from being a publisher when he was 9 and does not want to be a JW.
