The gospel of john was a personal account of Jesus...the revelation to john is was he was told to write as he was seeing it in a vision. The revelation is a book that portrays the final battle between good and evil. The harshness expressed in it is to be expected for such an epic battle.

We are faced with the vision of two "camps": God's and satans. Until satan and his angels are cast to earth they are still heavenly principalities.(Ephesians 6:12) Once they are cast to the earth there is even more woe to the earth and to the sea. What is described as vindictive is Jesus ridding the earth of those who are in opposition to His righteous reign. Jesus literally supports PEOPLE (rev 6:10) who have been slaughtered by those who are in opposition to His righteous reign. The tribulation is satanic/demonic it is initiated against "good". The wrath of God is initiated against "evil".

As far as the dating of the book of revelation, in the following link mark hitchcock presents external evidence for an AD 95 date based on EARLY written testimony refering to the time and event of the revelation when john was on the island of patmos. that testimony refers to john being on the island during the reign of emperor domician. @ 24-26 minute mark.

Moses conveyed messages from god. Lev.25 is a transcript of Yahweh/Jesus' instructions to take possession of slaves from people of the nations. The instructions to commit infanticide was spoken in god's name.

God did not correct Moses for speaking these things in his name. Jesus praised Moses. In Heb.11 praises Moses and the genocidal armies of Joshua.

The god of the OT was a moral monster. Therefore Jesus is a moral retard.

It is my understanding that all the israelite kings and priests were positioned to speak/act WITH the authority of God not AS the authority of God. (it is also my understanding that the only ones who were given the position to speak AS the authority of God were the judges in that they held the life or death of a man in their hands)

At the time of Jesus the pharisees were speaking WITH the authority of God and AS the authority of God...Jesus berated them publicly in His capacity as king, priest and judge.

Hebrews 11:24-29 is speaking exclusively about the faith of moses there is NO critique of the law or morality of the hebrews.

The hebrews/israel AND the entirety of the law were set forth (we are told) as an example of the depravity of the nature of fallen man in CONTRAST to the Holy God.

Those words include instructions to take slaves and treat them like chattel.

Either Moses was a liar and false prophet or he quoted god accurately.

If the former then Jesus was a fool - if the latter then god/Jesus is a moral monster.

actually, if you read the text it sounds like someone is quoting moses(speaking WITH the authority of God)...the phrase used is, "and the LORD spoke to moses..." not..."and the LORD spoke to 'me'"...

Yeah Cofty, quit quoting Moses. Yahweh would never endorse let alone tolerate genocide, misogyny, infanticide, polygamy, slavery, forced marriage/rape and so on. Yahweh was all about showing the love to everyone, everywhere.
