Socialism

Socialists think that money will solve all man's problems. Everything is obsessively related to money in the socialist ideology.

They have an almost supernatural ability to blame others with more money. God calls this greed and envy. They are sins.

I studied plenty of Marx and Engels while seeking a degree in Sociology at University. I sat under the teaching of avowed socialists professors that were given a platform (and a job) by the system they despised. Socialism is a failed ideology.

Remember the National Socialist German Workers' Party? No? They were called Nazi's for short.

Remember the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics? They were called the USSR for short.

They were not exactly warm and cuddly figures like our current grandfatherly champion of socialism, Bernie Sanders.

My wife grew up under Socialism in the Czech Republic. When the Russian Socialists left, many of the Czech people destroyed the very houses the Socialists lived in they were so hated.

Domination is the result of Socialism, not freedom and equality. This is a demonstrable fact of history.

Garry Gasparov was the undisputed Global Chess Champion at only 22, the youngest ever to hold that title. He also holds the record for holding it the longest.

He is one of the smartest people who have ever lived. Note what he says on his Facebook page:

I'm enjoying the irony of American Sanders supporters lecturing me, a former Soviet citizen, on the glories of Socialism and what it really means! Socialism sounds great in speech soundbites and on Facebook, but please keep it there. In practice, it corrodes not only the economy but the human spirit itself, and the ambition and achievement that made modern capitalism possible and brought billions of people out of poverty.

Talking about Socialism is a huge luxury, a luxury that was paid for by the successes of capitalism. Income inequality is a huge problem, absolutely. But the idea that the solution is more government, more regulation, more debt, and less risk is dangerously absurd.

Socialism corrodes far more than the economy and the human spirit as Gasparov correctly asserts. The ideology that blames literally most every problem on money puts the human mind in a box and slams the lid shut. It is mental suicide more than (or at least as much as) anything else.

How many Hollywood millionaires lead a train-wrecked life in spite of all their money?

Further evidence of this mental disaster can regularly be seen in statements similar to this Obama State Department Spokeswoman who blames ISIS growth and for acting they way they do (beheading, raping & genocide) on ....... (drum roll) YOU GUESSED IT - NOT ENOUGH JOBS (MONEY)!

She thinks ISIS will be defeated by providing jobs to people in their recruiting grounds.

What do you mean by socialism?

I live in a Scandinavian country which by many accounts are more socialistic than e.g. USA. Scandinavian countries are sometimes heralded as paradise on earth which I disagree with, however by no accounts can it be said that socialism has caused Scandinavia to fail in any objective way (wealth, happiness index, life expectancy, child mortality). We are of course not socialist in the sense we believe everything can be solved with money but I think even you understand that is a strawman.

So are Scandinavia socialist? Is it more socialist than e.g. the USA? Can we agree that countries can be at least this socialist without failing?

Preach it, brother. The real answer is the uncontrolled, unabashed pursuit of wealth and money, just like Jesus taught.

I haven't really dug in to politics and economic policy much since leaving the cult, so I'm not really sure what I think about socialism vs communism vs capitalism. That said, your argument is so full of flaws and fallacies that it makes me think socialists might be on to something.

Socialists think that money will solve all man's problems - so do capitalists.

I agree with some points in the OP that socialists and others on the political left shouldn't be allowed to move the goalposts or otherwise brush left-wing violence, bloodshed and dictators under the carpet.

I'm struggling to get your OP, TBH.

Are you trying to set out a critique of socialism?

I think the O.P can be explained as Perry prefers Trump to Sanders.

There are distinct differences between the Socialism described in the OP and socialistic services employed by countries such as Canada.

To me these are distinctly different animals.

Of course you can abolish taxes altogether and just have every man for himself, see how that works out for you.

With all things its about balance IMO. Any extreme ends badly.

Socialists think that money will solve all man's problems. Everything is obsessively related to money in the socialist ideology.

That seems to apply to capitalism.

They have an almost supernatural ability to blame others with more money. God calls this greed and envy. They are sins.

Capitalists blame those with little money for their problems. They think they're entitled to the wealth that workers produce (which transforms into money). They are greedy, constantly thinking of ways to increase their money at the expense of others.

Remember the National Socialist German Workers' Party? No? They were called Nazi's for short.

Hitler killed all the Socialist leaders in the Nazi party. That historical event is called "The night of the long knives". Hitler also hated communists and rounded them up into the concentration camps.

The party, in its beginning, had been a hybrid party. They called themselves "nationalist" in order to attract the right wing (whenever the word "nationalist" comes to mind it always applies to the right wing). They called themselves "Socialist" to attract the left wing. By attracting the disaffected of both movements they were able to draw enough voters to win an election.

The fate of the Socialists within the Nazi party was sealed when Hitler came into power. Once they were killed off and the election was won they started destroying unions - something no Socialist would do.

Same thing applied to the other two major fascists in Europe. Mussolini, in Italy, had been kicked out of the Socialist party. Franco, in Spain, had the Socialists trying to kill him.

Domination is the result of Socialism, not freedom and equality. This is a demonstrable fact of history.

Socialist nations can be either freedom oriented or dictatorial. Go to Western Europe where Bohm lives and you will find those Socialist nations that believe in freedom and democracy and I should say much more than the United States with its plutocracy. You conveniently pick out the examples that you wish and ignore the ones that contradict your ideology.

Why Hollywood millionaires and not the others who outnumber them?
