This video is a few years old but is very timely considering the culture war that is raging in the UK, the US, and other Western countries.
His argument is simple - he's calling for 'more speech' to counter bigoted speech and ideas, rather than shutting conversations down.

There are more efforts now than ever to stop free speech, and to silence ANY criticism, we see this in all spheres now. I agree with Rowan !

Mr Atkinson was actually speaking in the video in 2012.
Free speech obviously must be protected. Having disagreements is healthy and part of normal life.
The problem is when others force you to say certain things which you secretly disagree with, or when others force you to abandon certain words to avoid giving offence (e.g. 'people who possess a womb' in place of 'women', lol).
It's an effort by profoundly illiberal people to control what we think and say. If we can't say certain things, then we can't think certain things.
We must urgently push back against this attack on free speech.
