Christopher Biggins - the harmless, camp, homosexual, panto star - has been in hot water recently.

In addition to making a tasteless/offensive joke to a Jewish contestant in the Big Brother household, further possibly offensive comments about bisexuality have landed him in hot water. The offensive Jewish joke wasn't broadcast but the comments on bisexuality were.

    Here they are:

During a conversation about homosexuality, the gay actor said: “The worst type though is, I’m afraid to say, the bisexuals … what it is, is people not wanting to admit they are gay.”

Biggins claimed HIV had been spread by bisexual people who had sex with infected people abroad “and brought it back to their own families in America, and that’s how it became a worldwide disease”. (https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2016/sep/26/ofcom-investigates-christopher-bigginss-cbb-bisexuality-remarks).

Ofcom are investigating after receiving 20 complaints (yes, you read that right - twenty).

Now I, like most other people, disagree with Biggins' viewpoint on bisexuals.

But what the hell happened to free speech?

People are afraid of free speech. Especially when it comes to having an opinion. Then, whatever your opinion may or may not be, it will be classified as hate speech by anyone who doesn't like your opinion.

    Simples!

There was a Bisexuality day only last week:

^^^^^ yes, agree: Biggins was being a muppet ^^^^^

But surely he's entitled to his opinion, however lame it is?

Biggins should really be allowed to express his lame opinions on bisexuality without being investigated by Ofcom, or Off-piss, or whatever they're called ...

Isn't he saying that men who don't admit to being gay go abroad have sex with men then come back to their families and infect their partners with HIV. He says these bisexual people are gays in denial, surely that's saying there aren't any bisexual people. That is reminiscent of saying there are no gay people, it's a mental illness surely?

Among adults who identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual, bisexuals comprise a slight majority (1.8% compared to 1.7% who identify as lesbian or gay); women are substantially more likely than men to identify as bisexual; estimates of those who report any lifetime same-sex sexual behavior and any same-sex sexual attraction are substantially higher than estimates of those who identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual. - The Williams Institute.

it's a mental illness surely? - no, just a crap opinion.

Biggins should be criticised, put right, mocked, etc. but not put under investigation.

LUHE I said that saying there are no bisexual people they are all closet gays is reminiscent of when people used to say there are no gay people it's just a mental illness. Nowhere did I say Biggins has a mental illness!!
