What are your thoughts on the new movie 'Birth of A Nation'? While not a remake of the DW Griffith movie of the same title from 1915, it will undoubtedly bring up discussion of the earlier movie. I wonder if the WT will find itself embarrassed that some recent WT articles have touted their 1920's-era articles by that name, with no mention of the famous movie, which surely the readers at the time were familiar with.

I think the name was intentional to "reclaim" the reality that white supremacists had much less to do with creating America than the slaves (and immigrants) who did the work.

Apparently, the original movie was groundbreaking more for it's cinematography techniques which many modern films can be traced to. It was also a blueprint for the nationalistic and racist propaganda used by the nazis.
