Yeah, so my anticipation for this movie was very high a few months ago.

I didn't see it at the cinema, I was waiting for it on dvd. I had heard that it was a horror film (my favourite genre) so my expectations were high.

When I finally saw it, I was a little disappointed, I gotta say. The film has some kind of horror aspects - two guys going insane with the solitude, the killing of a seagull, the killing of Thomas Wake, and the death of Winslow, etc. - but its horror was too mild for me on first viewing.

The film has kinda grown on me with repeated viewings, though, and Robert Eggers is definitely a good film maker.

What do you think of the film?

I get all my movies off line so I don't have to pay. I pulled this one and dumped it about a quarter of the way through. Did not trip my trigger.

Did not trip my trigger - lol

This film isn't for everyone, that's for sure.

For me, it has quite a lot of 're-watch-ability'.

I do think that Robert Eggers has great potential as a film-maker. He and Jennifer Kent (The Babadook & The Nightingale) are my favourite directors of the last decade.

Dark and depressing, in spite of good acting and filming.

Horror films do nothing whatsoever for me..i rarely watch them. Real life is bad enough.
