JWNEVERGIVEUP welcome to the forum.
To answer your guestion....Yes....many are here who are trying to maintain their position in the congregation for a variety of reasons. Family, that is still in, is a compelling reason. A lot of marriages breakup when one mate stops believing it's the 'truth'.
Others think they can work within the organization to affect change.
Some don't want to lose their social life so they put up with the meetings and some token service. Tablets have been a life saver for many as they can get in an hour or two reading something more interesting then listening to the meeting.
We have pioneers, MS, Elders, 3rd and 4th generation JW's, former Bethelites and so forth.
One of the compelling reasons to stay in is that people are shunned if they leave.
In most first world countries you have the right to freedom of religion.....however you can't enjoy freedom of religion without the right to exercise freedom from religion..... with out penalties.
In this the JW's join with the Mormons, the Amish, Scientology in shunning those who don't want to remain active.
Unfortunately this so called loving arrangement of Shunning punishes the individual who wanted or had to leave as well as their parents or children, close friends etc.
To avoid this people stay in or try for a successful fade.
