Apart from avoiding that little conversation it would serve you well to have an unassailable position staked out. At this time it would be the Child sex abuse cases that are emerging. Blame it on ARC for exposing the problem and how sad it was to hear from the victims...........the Elders, Branch Elders and even a GB member all under sworn oath to learn that from 1950 up to the present time no one had informed the authorities that children had been sexually abused.
They got away with their crimes by denying their crime and because there wasn't another Eye Witness. Did Jesus really mean to apply the two witness rule to young children? Didn't he say in Matt 19: 13 Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
That old canard 'wait on Jehovah' doesn't work with sexual child abuse victims.
