Agree to that Stan, seen that myself.
Preconceiving that most humanity will be killed off and they themselves will be living in a Paradise with all the luxury items they couldn't own or afford, appeals to a inwardly selfish apathetic person of sorts.

Religious charlatans really have an unregulated open door to any doctrine they come up with. They cant be made legally libel or accountable.
The WTS. was started by opportunistic theological free thinkers who were also inspired by a unregulated capitalistic background, businessmen who sought out their own self empowerment and openly created their own version of Christianity formulated by the literature they published themselves.
Say what you want and print what you want and in a country where liberty and freedom of religion is upheld, its no wonder the WTS was created as it did.
There has been a long list of end the world end times religions created and some have accumulated much wealth out the gullible and naive.
These organization are not legally or lawfully enforced to return any the money they have extrapolated out of people, a matter of fact they actually have the law on their side to keep whatever financial gain they have accumulated

I think Russell was intending to create what he felt would be the ultimate religious trifecta with the bringing together of esoteric knowledge and christian beliefs and jewish tradition. A frankenreligion that offered what no other religion did and he succeeded.
