Hi All!
HL and I had a super time in Corfu. The Greek people are astonishingly amenable, the food is wonderful and Paleokastritsa (pronounced Pally Oh Kass Stritsa) stunningly beautiful.
The temperature was around 37 C, so much sunbathing was just not possible for us pallid Brits, all the same I manged to burn my feet. Ouch.
Now how about this..we actually went to Albania as well! Oh wow, talk about poverty. Average wage is 40 Euro's per week. That's around $42 or £28. The towns were absolutely squallid, they are still getting over a lifetime of communism, it's a grim place indeed. Having said that, the couintryside is very beautiful. The highlight of that trip was a visit to a Byzantine ruined city called Butrint which is almost as impressive as Pompeii, except that it's much smaller.
I'll post pics later this week.
