Well I have finished it and it is now a pdf file just waiting to be sold.
I got an email from the publisher that I contacted who stated that all the cookbooks they have tried to sell as pdf e-books have done terribly. Because of that they had decided to stop selling cookbooks.
Therefore I had a choice to keep looking for a publisher (most of whom said on theri website NO COOKBOOKS or had closed)
or try to sell it ourselves.
There is no reason why we can't do this ourselves. We save on the cut a publisher would get. We would have to do all the publicity anyways since e-publishers just pass that on to the author.
While this doesn't give us the mass market attention an e-publisher would give us we do have the book immediately available - well as soon as Simon gets it posted on the site.
We can however get a lot of attention for the book. If you have a website feel free to make a link to the book. In fact please do make a link to the book. Tell people about it. The more attention we make of the book the better for the board and sales.
For those of you who have never seen an e-book before - it is a pdf file. You will be able to open it with Acrobat Reader which I believe has a mac equivalent so the pdf file is very user friendly. You will find a Table of Contents at the front of the book and an index at the back. Recipes are only indexed according to title and not ingredients. You will be able to print out one page or the entire book if you wish. (all 211 pages)
This is a book created by many of you. I might have put it together but I wouldn't have much to put together if you hadn't been sending me the recipes.
And they look good recipes. I know I will be trying some - maybe quite a few
I think you will be pleased with what others have sent. I hope you will be pleased with the format. The screen name of the submitted is listed in both the Table of Contents and in the Index as well as the bottom of each recipe.
Thank you for your help in putting this project together.
Now let's see what we can do about selling it
