This was posted on The Christian Century magazine yesterday. Don't know how these folks could be dubs and go to another church without getting caught by some busybody in dubland,

People post whatever they feel like posting in the Internet. Also, that's some individual's account.

Isn't that kinda the point of the article.

    They're Mennonites?

Darkspilver I guess they claim to be Witnesses still if I read the article correctly. At least that's what the author called them. You know the JW congo where they live will go after them sooner or later. Can't have Witnesses attending some other church meeting can we now?

The author just refers to JWs as they are the only Christians he knew of who didn't celebrate Christmas - he mentions it as he was surprised that this non-JW couple, attending his Mennonite church, also did not 'celebrate' Christmas.

Aside from meeting Jehovah’s Witnesses, I had never encountered Christians who did not celebrate Christmas.

Actually they did, but in a much more non-commericalised, more religious way - that was the point of the article - it lead the author to re-evaluate his view of Christmas too.

Darkspilver you are correct. I took the mention of them in the same paragraph as dubs to include them as such. Couldn't imagine a couple of dubs going there unless they were such in name only.

    It's an interesting article.

The author's church website is: https://www.firstmennonitechurch.org

As slimboyfat has probably already noted - they seem to be an 'online' church only in the UK nowadays:
