What an interesting hypothesis. It might very well be. I'd like to see more data on the exact timing of the impact to see if it all really lines up, but it would be something if it did.
Didn't the apostle Paul see something similar to convert him to Christianity? Now I would be really impressed if they found an asteroid crater near Damascus.
