So, with head firmly up his backside, my BIL has decided to take his chances with a jury.
He could have taken a plea for 18 months Anger Management classes, but no, he thinks he did nothing wrong, and so now his daughter gets to appear before a jury.
Imagine a petite, "clean-cut", soft spoken young lady in front of a jury, as she answers questions about being beaten by her father for daring to have a boyfriend. I can't see any scenario where this goes to the benefit of her father.
It's either incredibly bad advice from his attorney, or his total refusal to acknowledge what he has done. Either way, what an incredible waste of time. He's a local businessman, it's a small town. Once this gets public, it's going to hurt him in a lot of ways. So dumb!
