Please keep in mind that this is for a wedding rehearsal dinner at a mansion, very elegant. I hate fake stuff. Vintage is okay, though. I don't like anything ornate. just simple. My neck is very short (ugh) and my hair is short. Don't have much money. Would pearls do? Maybe a vintage pair won't look so bad.
Need help with the jewelry for these dresses...

This is the dress for the wedding. Can't wear the black one because the wedding party is wearing black, so I chose red. Does this need jewelry? Please keep in mind I have very "plain" tastes, I like things understated and elegant.

Black dress - single or double string of pearls - I like less is more idea
Red dress - silver or gold chain - again very simple

Beryl: I wish you lived near me I have the perfect set of earrings and necklace for the black dress. They are small gray black and the pendant is Italian glass with copper in it. I would go simple too.
With the red I would go with small drop ruby earrings since you have a short neck I would draw attention with the earrings. So make them large enough to draw focus. I would style your hair to sweep away from your ears.

Both of those dresses are gorgeous! With the black a simple strand of pearls would be perfect. With the red a pair of outstanding earrings, not too huge but something intricate and elegant. Will you post a pic of yourself in the dress? That would be lovely.

I agree with Aztec and Sheila -- a medium or long strand of pearls with the black dress, and smashing earrings with the red one. Add an eye-catching bracelet with the red dress too.

Either a cubic zirconia or diamond pendant.....past, present and future with simple cz or diamond studs is my recommendation.

Something like this would go with both. Fake stones of course so it isn't so expensive. Single stone pendant with matching earrings, I like Emerald cut because of the simple lines.

Pearls all the way,,,,,,,,with matching pearl earrings. You can find a good faux pair at Dillards. No one would ever know , well most everyone wouldnt, and I doubt anyone would ask.
