Bill Bowen sent the following SilentLambs E-Mail Newsletter on June 3rd, 2003:

On Thursday of this week world wide work money will again be spent to
protect a pedophile. In addition it will also be spent to pay money to
a disfellowshipped person in order to find a way to prevent them from
assisting the court case of abuse survivors. Thousands and thousands of
dollars that go to protect child molesters while not one penny is being
sent in help those destroyed by the child abuse policy of Jehovah’s
    Witnesses.

Watchtower is providing me with an all expense paid trip to New Hampshire in order to take a deposition from me. Plane fare, motel, rental car, food, all paid by world wide work monies. The purpose of the deposition is to question and determine my basis as an expert witness for Heather and Holly. In other words they are going to try and find a way to discredit me to prevent my testimony in their trial. If they can succeed who is the person that ultimately benefits from this? Paul Berry a convicted child molester that was so notorious a jury convicted him on seventeen counts of the rape of Holly and sent him to prison for 56 years. Berry remains a Jehovah’s Witness in good standing and has yet to see congregational action for the rape of children. In fact evidence strongly suggests Watchtower sent twenty seven of his brothers and sisters to testify in his behalf at his sentencing hearing in order to help him get a lighter sentence. Now key Service Department overseers such as Gary Breoux and Legal Department attorneys such as Mario Moreno are
going to court sitting on the child molester’s side of the court room and providing testimony and legal advice that in the end protects, assists, and supports a monster like Paul Berry.

Who paid for these men to get there?

Who paid for the local attorneys to file hundreds of frivolous motions to try and “paper” their way out of this?

Who paid for my expenses to appear at the deposition?

The answer is anyone that contributes to the worldwide work of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Remember if you give money to this organization a percentage that grows each day is being spent on the defense and protection of child molesters. If Watchtower wanted to spend millions of dollars to assist the recovery of abuse survivors that has been harmed by their child abuse policy I would gladly reach into my pocket and support such a noble effort. On the other hand if they wish to continue to flush millions of dollars in lawyers fees, travel, expenses, etc..to defend child rapists, then let them lose all their money and sell every building they own, I have not one penny to give. A favorite scripture that is quoted (Ps 97:10) “Jehovah hates what is bad,” in my opinion defending and protecting child molesters, is “bad” and until whatever men of conscience that are left in this organization wake up and stand for what is righteous no one should finance this wickedness directed by the governing body. As they continue to lose millions in donations around the world perhaps someone will get a clue that God does not bless those that protect pedophiles.

I go this week to try to do my best to help abuse survivors, I do not know the outcome, I do not know what I am going to say, all I do know is what I feel in my heart. These men will fail to get what they seek as truth will prevail. Please think about the silent lambs and if you feel you can say a prayer to help us defend those hurt by the child abuse policy of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
