Yeah, your reasoning would make too much sense.
Plus, they would loose at least half of the pill heads that go there, the other half would faithfully quit and die. Maybe you should send that question to the society along with the same point on wedding rings and other things of pagan origin. I am sure the reply would be amusing to all.
