There is always a danger of oversimplification in using parables to describe complex systems and people. People are not 'bad' or 'good' As if the real world was black and white. Organizations, made up of an ever-changing group of people, are perhaps even more complex. Religions tend to reduce the world to good and evil, us and them. It's part of their attraction, the certainty it promises panders to our inclination for mental laziness.
The WT is a church made up of people. Many of it's ideas are healthy such as exercising moderation. The harmful aspects are those that attempt to apply black and white thinking to a collective of people and the world. The abuse of nonconforming members, the prayers for the destruction of everyone not part of the 'us', and the disordinate control over personal matters. All of these harmful aspects are rooted in simplistic good/bad thinking.
