saving those who don't need to be saved

Talking with a friend last night we got into bible god etc and he said something that made alot of sense.

He said "The Baptists screw up though. They go to third world countries to save those people. But if its written that those who don't know god will be judged at Armageddon and not automatically die, why do you need to save someone who doesnt know god? They are in no danger of being destroyed at armageddon are they. So in effect they are going out to save those that don't need to be saved."

I kept thinking about this and realized that JW's do this as well. They say that they must tell everyone about god because they want to save their lives. But if those that dont know god are innocent of that then why must they reach those people? There is also the scripture that the end wont come until all the people and nations know god. Isn't that a contradiction? Then why bother having the exception of those that dont know god.

If you can make heads or tails of this please let me know what you think. I havent stated it as eloquently as I would have liked and anyone who can put it in simpler tersm is appreciated.

    Food for thought at least.

JW's seem to hold to conflicting doctrines. They believe that people MUST be reached with the good news to have the hope of salvation, and yet they also say that "God will judge the hearts" of those who are not reached with the good news.

They want to have it both ways. But in reality, the second thought above overrides the first one. That is, if God can judge hearts, why is there a need for door-to-door "seeking out" of those who might need to be saved?

The door-to-door ministry of Jehovah's Witnesses is in fact an invention of the WT Society to keep their adherents busy with "busy work" while using the free labor to disseminate their literature. Just imagine if God judged people based on a timid presentation of a man-made magazine like the Watchtower or Awake! How fair would that be? How complete a presentation of the "good news" is that really?

Let heavier work be laid upon the men that they may labor at it and pay no regard to lying words."
So the taskmasters and the foremen of the people went out and said to the people, "Thus says Pharaoh, `I will not give you straw. Go yourselves, get your straw wherever you can find it; but your work will not be lessened in the least.'"

Excellent reasoning there Spice! Wonder if it would work on a JW? lol

I always wonder why, if the ransom has been paid by Christs death, then why the DELAY??? Debt paid - bring out the New System!!!

Gopher---exactly...another person suggested that individuals should not be based on one dor-to-door presentatoin. After all as imperfect humans what if that presentation was poorly done. Should that person be judged and destined to be destoyed on a poor presentation? That would not indicate a fair god.

A Pad----can you please explain what point you are trying to make. It doesn't seem relevant to me but maybe I'm not thinking about it in the right perspective. Thanks.

latte---yes...Im thinking of trying it with my parents after more research and the bible to back me up. See what they say. Then again there are so many contradictions in the bible ... and illogical parts such as what you mentioned.

Putting on my Jehovah's Witness hat for a while - yes, it's very cruel to contact these people because their decision to accept or reject the message is solely based upon the world's conditions right now and their belief in our reliability in telling the truth of God's word. We don't have a very good record unfortunately, but I just KNOW that we're right this time. We have no real concrete visible proof that the end will come soon. We can't call upon Jehovah to demonstrate what he will eventually do to somehow lend a bit of credibility to our message. We cannot perform signs in any way, all we can do is point to the words in the Watchtower and Awake, the interpretation we have to the Bible's prophesies, and hope they will take our word for it.

If we leave them all well alone and not call on them on the Field Service at all then they will get a resurrection after Armageddon as being one of these "ignorant" ones - and then after their resurrection the evidence that the Jehovah's Witnesses do indeed have the truth will be so abundant that only a complete fool would reject the message.

"Look, God has brought the new system in and you can see that the Jehovah's Witnesses have the true religion. Now, do you want a bible study? If you don't then you will be destroyed immediately, but if you do want a study then you will be able to live forever in the paradise Earth that you can see that we are currently building, now what do you want?"

"Duh, no thank you, I'm not interested!"

    ZZZZapppppp!
