Daily circulation of The Guardian around 170,000 copies, compared to say The Daily Mail's daily circulation of around 1,500,000.
So, who actually reads the Guardian?

Maybe our UK board members can educate us Americans on the papers there. Obviously I'm interested in any press that reflects negatively on the JWs. I've been to Daily Mail website a lot from other links, looks pretty trashy and tabloid. Guardian seems more legit, but thats just from my website impression.
I read yesterday the Guardian doesn't accept ads, though I saw a few on their webpage. Is that just the print version?

The daily fail headlines are either immigration, Maddie Mcann or Diana.
The Guardian is left wing-ish but pretty good.
The independent is more centre.
Murdoch owned papers are conservative.

I have been a Guardian reader since I was 14 years old, when my father began to take it.
It is recognised here in the U.K,and Internationally as a quality Newspaper that is truly independent, in that it is owned by a Trust. I have not always agreed with all of its views, and sometimes feel its writers could do more in- depth research, but this is rare, and it is head and shoulders above the others.
It has a long history of fearless exposure of wrongdoing at all levels, see the Panama Papers as a recent example.
It exposed the JW/WT membership of the U.N as a more ancient example.
Its influence far exceeds what its circulation would suggest.

I regularly read The Guardian online. I sometimes buy a physical copy.
Its support of gay rights and secularism is great; its criticism of capitalism and the West is entirely proper.
Its condemnation of white racist groups is also right and proper.
However, its treatment of Islam and Muslims with kid gloves is a major - I repeat, MAJOR - concern, and seemingly goes against its support of gay rights - gay people are treated appallingly in Islamic countries and among Muslim communities. In The Guardian's victim hierarchy it seems that Muslims are more precious than gays, at least at present.
Another criticism I have with the paper is its condemnation of aggressive Western foreign policy whilst simultaneously saying next to nothing on Putin's aggressive foreign policy. The Guardian columnist Seamus Milne, Corbyn's Director of Communications, was once a staunch communist/socialist, so perhaps this goes some way to explain this blatant hypocrisy.
Clearly, The Guardian has its good and bad points ...

Good points LUHE, and I would like the Grauniad (as we call it because in the old days they did not employ a proof-reader) to improve in those areas, but all things considered, it is probably the best national newspaper we have.
