The October 2023 Study Watchtower - P. 18, par. 2 exhorts JW's to personally dig deeper into the scriptures.
"An excellent way to study the Bible is to see how the var ious parts of its message connect together. Endeavor to understand not only what truths you believe but also why* you believe them." (the WT's emphasis - not mine!)
* Because if you don't believe them, you know the elders will "persuade" you to change your thinking.
