    Clearly, the Org's henchmen haven't "learned the rule", and go way beyond what's written at Romans 14:1

    "Welcome the man having weaknesses in his faith, but do not pass judgment on differing opinions." (RNWT)

    "Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don't argue with them about what they think is right or wrong." (NLT)

    "As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions." (ESV)

    "Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions." (NASB)

    Does the Org allow any J.W. to have a "differing opinion" from theirs? Not even Ray Franz!

    "It is evident that there is a distinction between a ‘falling’ due to weakness and the ‘falling away’ that constitutes apostasy. The latter implies a definite and willful withdrawal from the path of righteousness. (1Jo 3:4-8; 5:16, 17) Whatever its apparent basis, whether intellectual, moral, or spiritual, it constitutes a rebellion against God and a rejection of his Word of truth.2Th 2:3, 4;

    This is a disinguisssshed citation of the tower's article about "apostasy".
    The tower looks like a chess piece btw. As usual the Tower uses the bible text book as text module for a teaching.

    Okay we know that in all christian churches exist "church laws" like in the RC and protestant. This church laws know excommunciation and other disciplinary measures too. Does this mean that disciplinary measures for apostasy are a common accepted pratices in all christian denominations?

    If yes, on which basis are they installed?

    Is this church discipline by e.g. excommunation, banning for apostate teachers like women that are celebrating messes against the church law in catolic church not the same blossom of legalistics as JW have except that the shunning is more intensive?

    I only want to remind you how apostates were treated in middle age by the church in the so called "INQUISTION". The methods of inquisition in finding out the thoughts of your mind and your clear consience are similar to the JUDICIAL COMMITTEE AGENDA.

    If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame.

    Much as I like and agree with the spirit of the o/p .. I do think that the context is all important here.. We need to look at the next verses.

    Rom.14 RNWT

    Welcome the man having weaknesses in his faith,+ but do not pass judgment on differing opinions.* 2 One man has faith to eat everything, but the man who is weak eats only vegetables. 3 Let the one eating not look down on the one not eating, and let the one not eating not judge the one eating,+ for God has welcomed him. 4 Who are you to judge the servant of another?+ To his own master he stands or falls.+ Indeed, he will be made to stand, for Jehovah* can make him stand.
    5 One man judges one day as above another;+ another judges one day the same as all others;+ let each one be fully convinced in his own mind.

    If I were to assume the role of WTBS advocate, I would say that the context clearly shows the type of things upon which differing opinions were allowed in 1st Cent. :. Diet & the keeping of certain "days" of the Law of Moses. Similarly today we are allowed (as J W's) a wide range of individual preferences in clothing, entertainment and diet ,as long as we avoid extremes and abide by Bible principles. A man of weaknesses may be righteous overmuch, but let him be....It is only when doctrines are being discussed that we must be resolute for the "truth as dispensed by the 'slave''"

    How about that ? I am sure that is what they would say.......
