    Hi Folks.

Just another case to prove that the Tower Organisation has creeps that other Organisations do.

They are not special or chosen by god. (If you believe in one)

I wonder if it will make mainstream new here in Oz.

I will paste some of the article in a few minutes.

A senior church member has been charged with the rape, torture and assault of teenage boys on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

Detectives arrested the man on Sunday at Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.

The man faces 21 counts of rape, 17 counts of sexual assault, 13 counts of procuring sexual acts by false pretence and one count each of incest, torture and common assault.

The alleged offences relate to four male victims aged in their late teens to early twenties.

Detectives fear there could be more victims and are appealing for anyone with information to contact the police.

The man, who cannot be identified under Queensland law, was due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court court on Monday.

    Thanks for posting this JTG,

Many years ago after leaving the religion I got a letter to serve on the jury while i was still employed.

The case I was assigned to had to deal with a JW in the Brisbane Magistrates Court who was from the Atherton Tablelands area ? who was charged with sexually abusing his daughter / step daughter ? a charge brought on by the girls mother .

Of course I was interested ,but the female judge who was to preside over the case made it very clear to us juro`rs that she didn`t want a mis-trial for any reason whatsoever as that is a waste of time and money for the courts .In the lead up to the case their were some names as witnesses to the case that I was familiar with John Wilson a CO ? And I thought being in Brisbane I was known in a few congregations and if any visitors sitting in the court pointed me out sitting on the jury , I could be a reason for a mis-trial ,so I approached the bench and explained to the judge that I was a former member of JW`s and she excused me from this case .

I had to wait around just in case I was called to sit on another case ,but as it happened it didn`t eventuate.

I would have loved to have been on that case or even as an observer to see what the outcome was.

In fairness to the accused I do believe that some women do bring this false charge against a man to win their case ,whether it was so or not in this case I do not know.

    Its behind a paywall.

To summarize ; On the 28th October the Magistrate granted more time for the police to investigate and prepare a complete brief of evidence.

Apparently the lawyer of the accused is not happy. The Lawyers name is Kelvin Pearson.

The accused was granted bail in the supreme court of Brisbane as reported by the abc news on the 13th of October this month. I will try to post a link to that story.

Bringing abusers to justice is difficult when there are so many lobbying against the effort. That any progress is made at all is remarkable. However, it appears that the spotlight is shing brighter on this criminal activity. Recently the Biden Administration tossed out the statute of limitations on prosecuting pedophiles so there will no doubt be more cases that surface in the U.S.

Reporting child abuse in JW Land still carries a heavy penalty, even when there are multiple witnesses. Speaking out will get you DF'd - period. This is not likely to change until WTC is no more.

    ThomasMore,

Speaking out will get you DF'd - period.

When you say the above, do you mean that the person who "speaks out" gets charged with "slander" which is a disfellowshipping offense, or is the punishment related to "spreading disunity" because of continuing to talk about something which is "not upbuilding"?

I've been "out" of the organization for a while, and am wondering if this is part of cracking down on dissent...

    Update.

There has been a court hearing Monday Dec 18.

The report is behind a pay wall in the 'sunshine coast daily' that I cannot access.

It appears there is evidence to suggest graphic home porn videos are part of the evidence.

The lawyer for the accused mentioned its a difficult case as consent to engage in the videos may have been given.

The judge has stated that the church is to forward all documents regarding this matter that took place from 2008 to 2019.

I received this info via a text from a sunshine coast local.
