In other words, they are able to rapidly change on the cellular level to suit their environment, rather than relying on the slow evolution of DNA to make changes."

I have always been fascinated by Cephalopods after reading and seeing on tv how different they are to other sea creatures. That is why I don't want to eat calamari or octopus.
The more you learn the more amazing sea life gets....
Octopus and squid are amazing animals.
It's interesting that this RNA editing apparently happens among soft-bodied Cephalods, the Coleoids (octopus, squid) but not among Nautilus.
Are Coleoids a more derived taxon than Nautiloids?
Octopuses and all Cephalopods are amazing.
If you YouTube "octopus jar" you will find videos of octopuses opening jars with threaded lids to escape from them or to get food that is inside.
I for one, welcome our Cephalopod overlords.
