Why is it that all the Presidential Candidates are not addressing the most dangerous problem we face?

    On January 13th, 2018, an emergency warning appeared on phone screens across Hawaii, alerting everyone:

    BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

    “The ensuing 38 minutes were fraught with panic and terror, as families were forced to make excruciating decisions about who to call and where to go. Such emotional triage is the stuff of apocalypse-themed blockbusters, but rarely is it real life. When the ballistic missile never arrived and the panic subsided, there was one element of truth to the false alert:

    it wasn’t a drill. It was simply a monumental mistake.”

    Tulsi Gabbard who was running for President and lives in Hawaii discussed in an interview how it felt when the alert said;

    YOU HAVE 38 MINUTES BEFORE DETONATION!

    There was only time to do ONE thing and one thing only,-------hug the ones you love ---and cry real hard!

    This was the main reason Tulsi Gabbard was running for President. She saw a nuclear threat as the most dangerous problem that not only Americans face, but the whole world of mankind. Here are some interviews where she points this out.

    But nobody seems to care. Everyone is more interested in Trump’s “Grab her by the Pus**” expose. Free healthcare for illegal immigrants, Green New Deal and get rid of cars, planes, refrigerated air, BLM, allow citizens to riot and burn down cities, Defund the police, get rid of Social Security and Medicare and let the government decide what medical treatment you should get, give a universal income to every citizen including illegal immigrants of between $1000-$2000 every month.

    And let’s not forget---confiscate all guns by forced buy back.

    Tulsi Gabbard was ousted out of the Presidential Race by her own party.

    When this happened, I felt like all our Candidates running for the most powerful office in the USA were no different than the Governing Body of Jehovah’s witnesses. They were in the race for the power and not really about helping the people.

    In the meantime, if you keep up with what is happening, Not in the USA or the UK but around the world in places like North Korea, India, Pakistan, China, Israel, Russia, and many small terrorist groups that are trying hard to get a hold of nuclear materials to build a dirty bomb, You will come to the realization that peace is hanging on a very thin string.

    According to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the worldwide total inventory of nuclear weapons as of 2019 stood at 13,865

    Three states that have conducted overt nuclear tests, and are possibly still doing it, are India, Pakistan, and North Korea. And there is not a single thing the USA, Russia, or China can do about it.

    It would take only10 Nukes, in strategic places to bring down the entire world economy, the medical infrastructure, and disrupt the weather system of the entire planet for several years.

    100 Nukes would kill about 5-6 billion humans on the planet within a year. Some instantly, others more slowly from radiation poisoning, starvation, sickness, anarchy, etc. The survivors would have to start everything all over again.

    They would have to figure out how electricity works, heating and cooling, how to make automobiles, start from scratch and learn how to create vaccines, xray machines, blood pressure medicine, pacemakers, airplanes.

    But first, for the next several hundred years they would have to focus on just one thing,-------SURVIVE!

    Then after several hundred years, maybe thousands of years, they would have to build the infrastructure to make things like laboratories, engineering plants, telephones, computers, hospitals, fill them with doctors.

    But by then all the knowledge of doctors, engineers, scientist, mechanics would be dead and long forgotten.

    It would take centuries, perhaps millenniums to get back technological wise to where we are today.

    Right now we are in a little Pandemic that has killed so far 772, 681 people world wide, mostly elderly and those with an underline health condition, and yet it has brought the whole world to a standstill. For a while there was no toilet paper, meat was scarce, groceries shelves were empty, guns and ammunition was sold out in just about every gun shop because people were scared and ready to kill their neighbor.

    Imagine what a small nuclear war would cause in your area. A war started by someone crazy enough to push the button regardless of the consequences, like Kim Jong-un

    A reminder that a nuclear threat is still very real regardless if we believe it or not.

    Sounds like "paradise" right after the Big "A". Most likely there is a greater chance of nuclear holocaust than Armageddon.

    The nice things about nuclear weapons is that they are too powerful to use. Throughout the chain of commands in any country no chain of people is nuts enough to believe that anyone would ever attack first. Even the 'close calls' we've had thus far, someone, somewhere in Soviet Russia, the US, Pakistan, India, France, UK, ... has always had the wherewithal to think through the malfunction.

    On the other hand, having them has stopped World War 2, kept the Cold War cold, stopped World War 3 from happening. Things are very, very peaceful compared with just 100 years ago.

    The scarcity due to COVID-19 was largely man-made, but nobody has died because they couldn't get food, that's a thing relegated to the past even in a massive pandemic, just 50 years ago, people would be STARVING if we did such an exercise, nobody starved because COVID-19. Sure it's sad that some people die, but many more people will have died from preventable diseases than from COVID-19.

    Tulsi Gabbard was ousted out of the Presidential Race by her own party.... because she would have been better suited to the other party and she did not score high enough on the psychopathy index to be a good politician.

    Unfortunately I agree with your assessment, especially;

    she did not score high enough on the psychopathy index to be a good politician.

    We need another political party that's in the middle of Republican and Democratic.

    Mr F--Why are you heavily inclined to use ad hominem arguments??

    A nuclear war may happen if someone's chooses to start one. And it's very unlikely someone will.

    In the mean time we already have a pandemic and an urgent and very high-impact climate problem that are actually happening right now.

    Why focus on what may happen in some unlikely scenario, when we haven't even started to properly address the much more urgent issues we already have?

    I don't recall any chain of command to use nuclear weapons for the U.S.A. I believe they have in fact reserved the right to use nuclear weapons first in any conflicts where they deem that necessary.

    The nuclear "football" and the ability to use these weapons have been fully placed in the hands of Donald Trump at his sole discretion
