How many here have been abandoned by the WTS?

Sounds a strange thing to ask, but it does occur. I don't think Simon will mind if I mentioned his situation. Simon was DA'd by the WTS. His wife is still a publisher. No one has called on her to see if she wants to go to meetings etc. She doesn't but they have simply ignored her and if she felt any pangs of WTS sympathy they dissapated a long time ago. Ang., also has been ignored by JWs at the shops and at school etc.

Dansk's wife and ex-pioneer son is another example. They have assumed because he has decided not to attend anymore that they do also and there is no point trying to help them. Sounds like they prefer to make no effort or attempt.

    Any thoughts?

If they had not been so unkind to me and my family, we would still be there. it is only b/c they never called or checked on me or my husband, that i first stated looking at these sites. so b/c of not having the love of God, i found the courage to read about them.

The WTS puts more emphasis on recruiting potential new members than on keeping present members, or restoring previous members of the faith. Thus, JWs feel they must spend time out in the preaching work (for which they can count time) whereas spending time with those who have stopped attending meetings, or with those who might be discouraged, is left up to the Elders to do, who are on a busy enough schedule as it is.

When I first went inactive, and started to miss meetings, it took about 6 months before the elders decided to make a shepherding call. Otherwise I was completely ignored by elders and other JWs alike. I remember one newly-baptised brother (who DID notice I wasn't around as much anymore) made the comment "I bet you've had heaps of people call you to see how you are." I honestly replied, "Only you have called me, no one else has."

By the time they did start taking interest in me, it was too late.

As for the situations of Angharad and Physio (Dansk's wife), I think it is a case where if the husband has stopped going to meetings/left "the truth", and the wife stopped going, they presume the wife feels the same way. They might reason that if the wife (and family) really wanted to keep attending meetings, then they would still be attending.

After my diassociation was read out my brother turned up to play regular football with the brothers and they point blank refused to let him join in on the basis that he was my brother.

my mother has been inactive for a few years and the elders have never once called on her, she only gets a call from one of the female anointed once every six months to find out if my dad had died....strange people...they are more interested in my dads death than they are my mothers life.
