The World Cup in Russia is being used to launch V.A.R. - Video Assistant Referee.

It will be very interesting to see if/how it affects the almost obligatory cheating offences of pulling/pushing which occur every time players are in each other's penalty area. Maybe we'll see more penalty kicks than normal being awarded.

    The beautiful game?

I think its a good idea, all other professional sports have this now.

As for Foot Ball the accepting knowledge of cameras on the players will make the fake injures less of a problem it also forces more honesty to the play action toward possible penalties .

A World Cup-bound referee has been banned for life for a match-fixing attempt in Saudi Arabia just weeks before he was due to fly to Russia, says the country's football federation.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) says Fahad Al Mirdasi confessed to offering to fix the King's Cup final between Al Ittihad and Al Faisaly.
