It started me wondering, was there ever any desire among single Dubs of similar age and gender to share digs? Was such a move encouraged or frowned upon by elders? Is there anything official in the literature? Does anyone have any experiences?
Do you mean as in a large group of singles all sharing a house, or just 2 or 3 sharing a unit/house?
I knew heaps of single dubs that shared places with other singles. They'd all moved out of home for various reasons and needed to share.
Sharing with worldly people was discouraged, and of course you couldn't share a place with someone of the opposite gender.
I flatted with a psycho from another state. It was her first time living in a big city, and she had more hangups than the NY Art Gallery. She was lazy, never did her share of the housework, and left me with a $200 phone bill that I had to pay, because the phone was in my name. She stopped going in service a month after moving in with me, stopped going to the meetings 2 months later. Became paranoid that everyone hated her (which wasn't far from the truth, lol). We parted our ways after about 9 months. Never heard from her again, thank goodness!

Anymore Dub apartment sharing horror stories?
I was in a dub singles flat for a while - I went on holiday and came back to find they had rented my room to someone else. I was big time pissed off.
I can understand that, Hippi. After all, I rented your room out while I was house sitting for you...
Steph rented the room out to me, and I rented it out to Ozziepost, who then in turn rented it out to....
