    ARTIST: Dave Mason
    TITLE: We Just Disagree

Been away, haven't seen you in a while, how've you been
Have you changed your style and do you think
That we've grown up differently, don't seem the same
Seems you've lost your feel for me

    {Refrain}
So let's leave it alone, 'cause we can't see eye to eye
There ain't no good guys, there ain't no bad guys
There's only you and me and we just disagree
    Oo-oo-oo, oh oh whoa

I'm going back to a place that's far away, how bout you
Have you got a place to stay, why should I care
When I'm just trying to get along, we were friends
But now it's the end of our love song...................

    hey stephen,

I remember this song - know part of it by heart.

So let's leave it alone, 'cause we can't see eye to eye
There ain't no good guys, there ain't no bad guys
There's only you and me and we just disagree

I think, whether here on the web or in real life, these are good words to remember. I don't remember this part, however:

    Oo-oo-oo, oh oh whoa

Rather like tolerance. I've had to do that in life sometimes - just recognize my like/love for someone - and agree to disagree. Value the person as much as the concept.

    Thanks.

there is a better line for tolerance.....

screamed out in this one............ please tell me if you can spot it......

    Tunnel Of Love -

Fat man sitting on a little stool
Takes the money from my hand while his eyes take a walk all over you
Hands me two tickets, smiles and whispers good luck
Cuddle up, angel, cuddle up, my little dove
We'll ride down, baby, into this tunnel of love

I can feel the soft silk of your blouse
And them soft thrills in our little fun-house
Then the lights go out and it's just the three of us
You, me and all that stuff we're so scared of
Gotta ride down, baby, into this tunnel of love

There's a crazy mirror showing us both in 5-D
I'm laughing at you, you're laughing at me
There's a room of shadows that gets so dark, brother
It's easy for two people to lose each other
    In this tunnel of love

It ought to be easy, ought to be simple enough
Man meets a woman and they fall in love
But the house is haunted and the ride gets rough
And you've got to learn to live with what you can't rise above
If you want to ride on down in through this tunnel of love

    hey stephen,

Not much on the words to music, nor poetry, but will give it a shot:

And you've got to learn to live with what you can't rise above
If you want to ride on down in through this tunnel of love

Other than that, went over/under my head.

I'm a believer in tolerance -in general. I miss sometimes, but I think it's a great thing to strive for.

Learn to live with what you can't rise above.

another WOnderful.............getting past it lyrical gem

    Wasted Time

    Well baby, there you stand
With your little head, down in your hand
Oh, my God, you can't believe it's happening again
Your baby's gone, and you're all alone
and it looks like the end.

And you're back out on the street.
    And you're tryin' to remember.
How will you start it over?
    You don't know what became.
You don't care much for a stranger's touch,
But you can't hold your man.

You never thought you'd be alone this far
    down the line
And I know what's been on your mind
You're afraid it's all been wasted time

The autumn leaves have got you thinking
about the first time that you fell
You didn't love the boy too much, no, no
you just loved the boy to well, Farewell
So you live from day to day, and you dream
    about tomorrow, oh.
And the hours go by like minutes
and the shadows come to stay
So you take a little something to
    make them go away
And I could have done so many things, baby
If I could only stop my mind from wondrin' what
I left behind and from worrying 'bout this wasted time

Ooh, another love has come and gone
Ooh, and the years keep rushing on
I remember what you told me before you went out on your own:
"Sometimes to keep it together, we got to leave it alone."
So you can get on with your search, baby, and I can get on with mine
And maybe someday we will find , that it wasn't really wasted time
    Mm,hm
    Oh hoo, ooh, ohh,
    Ooh,ooh, mm

It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
    It don't matter, anyhow
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don't know by now
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
    You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on
Don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
    That light I never knowed
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
So don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
    Like you never did before
It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
I can't hear you any more
I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' all the way down the road
    I once loved a woman, a child I'm told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right

I'm walkin' down that long, lonesome road, babe
    Where I'm bound, I can't tell
But goodbye's too good a word, gal
So I'll just say fare thee well
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right
