Overall I think it's gonna be just great. But on my Dell laptop, that add for the lawyers up on the top right of the page? It's showing up on each leftmost column of the topic list. Just imagine a loooong table with the left column filled with ads for whoever and Love (Norris, isn't it?) Not pretty.

I also note that if you have composed a reply or a new topic and you link to the previous page or leave the new post page for any reason, when you get back all your typing is gone and you have to start over. Will that never change? It IS a huge pain in the patootee.

    But good!!

Great work Simon. Can't wait to play with all the bells and whistles.

NOW some other observations. Some of your guidelines are highly, highly subjective, especially 1. - 4. inclusive; and number 10 is kind of shaky as well. I don't know a judge who would touch a case based on any of those. These guidelines must be based on English common law. Right? Our First Amendment would keep you clear of most of what you seem to be worried about in your policy statement.

Are you going to have the time to sit in judgement when all the complaints from all the whiners start pouring in? You know the type. The type who initiate a class-action suit against McDonald's because their coffee was too hot, or their bagels too tough. And then there's the "It all started when he hit me back !!" crowd. I feel you're asking for it, Si ol' buddy. You gonna just go ahead and quit your day job?

AND, um, I think you must have the biggest pair in the universe, putting up a website that deals with religion, especially cultic religion, and expect it to be "friendly and welcoming, legal and relevant." ?? WHATTAMAN!!

Just thought I'd put in my usual $0.02.

Can you send me a screen-shot of this so I can check it out? Thanks

Yes, it would be nice to let you navigate round but it's best to open a new window to do this (just shift-click or right-click and choose 'open in new window)

As for the guidelines ... they are just that - guidelines. The main thing is that people need to realise that there are limits to what can be posted and if things are edited or removed then it really isn't that big a deal. Anyone attempting to make a big dea lof anything will be told: you broke the guidelines. I don't want to get into any of the pointless discussions about freedom of speech that we have in the past or spend too much time on anyone who is just after making life difficult.

The idea is that the forum is friendly and welcoming. Strong debate is welcome too but people need to be able to conduct themselves in a civilised manner.
