The identity of a witness.

It seems to me, that most witnesses are exactly that: They are a witness. Their sole existance is of being one.

Then comes, parent, spouse, friend, workmate, etc.

Is there any room for anything else when active as a witness? It seems to me, that those who are active, really don't have a life. That is meant most sincerely. I look at myself, or friends, and who they are as a person first, what they do religious, or otherwise comes second, or maybe even further down the line.

It is as if that completely describes who they are. That is sad, for many times that overrides the wonderful personality that they may have had. When I remember watching others, they just seemed different. Many people that I have gotten to know over the years, I found out much later in the relationship what religion if any, that they were. It seems that with most witnesses, you seem to find out right away. That is their sole existance. Everything else comes down the line.

    What do you think?

Since being a Witness is supposed to be a privlege, that is the ultimate goal. If you're a good parent but a lousy Witness, then you're just plain, old dog crap. If you're a good neighbor and would even put your life on the line for another human being, but you're not a Jehovah's Witness, it's all in vain. If you're a lousy Witness but at least baptized, you're better off than a non- JW because you'll get life and they won't.

But did you ever -really- fall for that? That a lousy Witness would get life and a good non-Witness would not? I never did, and stated quite plainly that Witnesses were going to have a very big surprise at the time of the end; many, many Witnesses would not make it, so I stated, and many, many, MANY non-Witnesses would.

No one ever seemed to take particular offense to my "observation". But then, I avoided any kind of real discussions with most Witnesses like the plague. It would serve no purpose other than to get me in "trouble".

A lousy Witness would have a more difficult time gaing perfection in the new system and if he didn't work on his imperfections now, he could be fail when being tested at the close of a thousand years. So officially, you're in BUT you still not really good enough.

The witness is certainly a witness.
