Kara- An ethical dilemma that's closer than you may be thinking
- Would you let her 'live'?
For all the hype of AI, I don't think we are really anywhere close to it being a reality.
What we have is the emulation of intelligence, not intelligence - that is the "artificial" part. Of course it is easy to confuse the two - that is what AI is all about - fooling you into believing it's genuine intelligence.
That is, computers can give the appearance of intelligence but it's just language processing and algorithms. There is no feeling other than the feeling it's been programmed to imitate.
Simon: There is no feeling other than the feeling it's been programmed to imitate.
You just described some 'humans' I have ran into.
- Yeah, OrphanCrow, I thought Simon was talking about me as a JW.
For the super rich and powerful (and those who feed off their decadence), world hunger is not a dilemma, nor is human trafficking, breeding big cats for the pleasure of human hunters, torture, and any number of things..........
So, no, it won't be a dilemma. Those who can afford these, will have them - just as they now have human sex slaves. Let's not be naive. *shrugs*
- I'd have let her live.
- I definitely see some parallels...
