    Hello again to everyone,

This time Ill show you something quite strange:

a case of black-out in the WTBS memoryor

    was it not??

Lets take an article from The Watchtower

    February 15 th , 2000 page 15 1

He has never once been seen to laugh. That is how

Jesus is described in a document falsely claiming to be written

by an ancient Roman official. This document, which has

been known in its present form since about the 11 th

century , is said to have influenced many artists. *

    Footnote:

*In the document , the forger described the supposed physical appearance of Jesus, including the color of his hair, beard, and eyes. Bible translator Edgar J. Goodspeed explains that this forgery was designed to give currency to the description contained in the painters manuals about the personal appearance of Jesus

What the WTBS has omitted, forgot or deliberatley avoid

was to mention that the content of that document was

published in an article of the Zions Watch Tower and

Herald of Christs Presence issue of December 1884, n4

page 2 , (R695 -696) under the title: Description of Jesus

As a matter of fact, you can view it from this link :

and for your convenience here it is:

    DESCRIPTION OF JESUS.

The following epistle it is claimed was taken by Napoleon from the records of Rome, when he deprived that city of so many valuable manuscripts. It purports to have been written at the time and on the spot where Jesus commenced his ministry, by Publius Lentelus, governor of Judea, to the senate at Rome--Caesar, Emperor. It was the custom in those days for the governor to write home any event of importance transpiring during his term of office.

"Conscript Fathers:--There appeared, in these our days, a man named Jesus Christ, who is yet living among us, and, of the Gentiles, is accepted as a prophet of great truth; but his own disciples call him the son of God. He hath raised the dead, and cured all manner of diseases. He is a man of stature somewhat tall and comely; with a very ruddy countenance, such as the beholder may both love and fear. His hair is of the color of the filbert when fully ripe, plain to his ear, whence downward, it is of more oriental color, curling and waving on his shoulders. In the middle of his head there is a seam of long hair, after the manner of the Nazarites. His forehead is plain and delicate; his face, without spot or wrinkle, beautiful, with a comely red; his nose and mouth are exactly formed; his beard is the color of his hair, and thick; not of any length, but forked. In reproving he is terrible; in admonishing courteous; in speaking, very modest and wise; in proportion of body, well shaped. None have seen him laugh, many have seen him weep. A man for his surpassing beauty excelling the children of men."

As Jesus was a Jew, is there any reason to think that his appearance was different substantially than any other Jew? Is there, then, any excuse to portray him as a Norwegian?

well.........he did have that "glowing" thing going on for a while there. And I guess he'd be easy to pick out in a crowd being the only man with a dove on his head. Other than that - he probably blended in pretty well....except for the crowds all following behind him.

Hmmmm...I wonder if he would have given an interview to Barbara Walters......ok - I'm rambling again.

If I remember the WTS once thought Jesus was beardless. in their publication, from paradise lost to paradise regained they portraid him like a young Greek. very odd. they said it was what the oldest evidence suggested. like francois said he was a jew and looked like one. Why did Judas had to betray him with a kiss? If jesus looked strange to them, or even had a Halo, judas would just have to say: "you see that freak over there? that's him!". Also if Jesus was beardless the jews would have seen him as a Roman collaberator, an infidel.
