Maybe this iwatch comes straight from Apple themselves. Not so long ago, weren't Apple TV boxes being "strongly recommended" to congregations as a means of watching streaming video at the KH's? Possibly this watch is a little present from Apple, as "payment for services rendered" in promoting the sale of all those Apple TV's..?

But to be so arrogant as to not even dress the part when you are going on camera before the world trying to appear like a humble man of God????

What complete bollox. This goes against everything Jesus did, taught and said and they themselves teach.. (apparently)

    Mark 14:5

"It could have been sold for more than a year's wages and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly."

It seems that these "elite group" believe that they can do whatever they want and no one is expected to be stumbled or offended. In the 1990s I have exposed Milton Henschel for staying in a 5 star hotel in Malta (April 1992 & April 1996). One night in this hotel was more then the monthly allowance that as a Special Pioneer I was given. See http://www.free minds.org/history/bonanno.htm

Even if the watch isnt real, why is he imitating the world?

Arent we supposed to be "modest in walking with our God"?

So is he "above" as in clergy/laity, something the JWs claim doesnt exist in their ranks or is he just that out of touch with the common man?

Paul Bonanno, the material that your link led to was informative and interesting. The link won't work as you posted it. Hopefully, this will work:

Maybe he should sell it to buy ice cream for the Bethelites and spare Sophia from having to forfeit hers...

Apple has been in the news for a year or two for their rather serious labor violations at their factories in China. This was where they put nets around the building to keep the workers from jumping off.

So of course when Jackson went shopping for his watch, he would want to support Apple. How wonderful are their provisions for keeping their drones in line!

    Maybe they're in cahoots...oh nooooo...

this is half off topic, but i just wanted to mention that this is to be in the culture of those higher ups.

we used to have a couple of COs which would always flaunt gifts from rich congregations hoping we (as a congregation) would be equally generous. which most of the time never happened because our congregation members were poor.

Our CO would tell us stories that upon mentioning that his laptop were broken, the congregation bought him a new one plus a new printer. The wife was notorious for dragging her service partners to department stores in hope that the service partners would buy her something fancy.

Then we had another CO, whenever you would invite him for lunch, he would come late, eat and then leave unless he had a cash present coming his way.

I gotta say, the hard-core loyalists are doing a terrific job accurately representing the Org, and "setting an example for the world to follow". :smirk:

Flipper: Those factories aren't owned by Apple. They are third parties that have contracts to manufacture things for Apple. They also manufacture stuff for literally every computer company in the world. Samsung, LG, Motorola, Dell, Lenovo, Nintendo, etc. It's all made in the same factories.

If you use a phone, computer, or tablet, it was made in one of those same plants.
