Does the Watchtower still hold that their rank and file members are "ministers"? If so then such a law would have to include every JW male.

Agree with Sherrie11's line of thought. With so many known predators being actively protected by the Borg, what chance do they have of ever appearing on a registry?

Sounds good in theory but will only keep out the rare convicted jw. Meanwhile all the others will continue their soul-wrenching molestation and rape of innocent children.

Maybe not cultbegone, but it will bog things down that have up till now been a given.

The more legislation they have to work around the more difficult it will become for anyone "reaching out."

Who the hell is going to reach out if that shit hits the fan? Would you?? Just imagine being the JW males who would be left after the fallout. Would you want to reach out? Would you go man a litteratrash cart if everyone knew the WTBTS had harbored pedos?

Sounds like following Jesus "at a distance" isn't such a bad idea, contrary to the latest WTBTS guilt trip.

    Quote from jw.org, just retrieved:

Following the model of first-century Christianity, Jehovah’s Witnesses have no clergy-laity division. All baptized members are ordained ministers and share in the preaching and teaching work. Witnesses are organized into congregations of about 100 members. Spiritually mature men in each congregation serve as “older men,” or elders. (Titus 1:5) They do so without being paid for their services.

In a church I went to, every volunteer had to pAss police check. It was free or paid by church. Anyone who is baptised or an UBM or in the TMS should have to under the proposed scheme. Yay!

Yes. Anyone giving a bible study to a child, going out on the work with a child......anything involving a child and an adult (sometimes this includes a parent or grand parent too) Will have to have this card. If not...........trouble. Lawsuits for none compliance etc. I guess many will not be taking their kids out on the work as much as before....Actually, there have been less sightings of children in the West of Australia.

A working with children check/card, costs about $ 160 Australian in WA

It will apply to all "adults", not just men, women too. This is only fair, for their are women who have made no attempts to protect their children and need as much scrutiny as any other man.....I obtained one in advance, when attending The college of Education, as an English teacher at the primary school level. Five years ago from my recollection
