You ever get a weird song stuck in your head. This one always comes out from time to time, and I have no clue why. Why would my Witness parents play this song and allow it into the minds of their children. Do you have any songs like this? I have to admit, I know this song by heart. LOL

    "The Battle of New Orleans"

In 1814 we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip.
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans.

    CHORUS:

We fired our guns and the British kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin' on
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
We looked down the river and we see'd the British come.
And there must have been a hundred of'em beatin' on the drum.
They stepped so high and they made the bugles ring.
We stood by our cotton bales and didn't say a thing.

    CHORUS

Old Hickory said we could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't fire our muskets 'til we looked 'em in the eye
We held our fire 'til we see'd their faces well.
Then we opened up with squirrel guns and really gave 'em ... well

    CHORUS

Yeah, they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go.
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down.
So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round.
We filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind
And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind.

    Whyhideit,

You have dated yourself. That song, by Johnny Horton was popular back in the fifties. I have a cd with that song and others on it. The old stuff is best, in my opinion. Bug

I never get whole songs stuck in my head, just little pieces of the songs. Which reminds me of a game me and my friend play. One person speaks say four lines of a song, and the other person has to guess what the song is, artist and title.

here's the partial I've had running through my head all day.

    But they told me

    a man should be faithful

    and walk when not able

    and fight till the end

    but I'm only human

Ok, stupid song that has been stuck in my head for years. It's by the comedianne Julie Brown

    "'Cause I'm A Blonde"

    Because I'm blonde I don't hafta think

I talk like a baby and I never pay for drinks

Don't have to worry about gettin' a man

If I keep this blonde, and I keep this tan

'Cause I'm a blonde, yeah yeah yeah

And no, I am not blonde! Also, on the same tape, "The Homecoming Queen Has a Gun" but that song is no longer politically correct (even though it was funnier than all get out, and so was the video).
