The veterans appreciated our coverage of the parade so much they invited my husband and I to their Thanksgiving dinner last Thursday. We all did the pledge of allegiance to the flag before we started eating. It was strange but ok.
They asked us to do some articles on a group called Rolling Thunder. Any of you bikers familiar with it? They do a run to the Vietnam wall every May, had over 500,000 last year participate. They're involved in POW/MIA issue as well as things that concern veterans.
As we get more involved with other people, the JW experience is fading more.
