I decided to have a look at Jwtalk to see if there might be any news on the Australian Royal Commission investigation into child abuse. There was a message posted regarding the news. It is now gone!

Another case of JWs not being able to handle bad news against the mother ship!

What a surprise. Not. I'm sure somebody chastised whoever put it up with something like:

"Now friends, we don't want to post apostate driven lies and accusations on the board. Instead we should strive to consider things that are upbuilding and faith strengthening. In Phillipians 4:8 we are reminded to..." Yada yada yada.

By not allowing them to talk about it there, they will force the forum members to look elsewhere on the internet.

The ones who complain loudest about apostates are often the ones with the greatest concerns, trying to protect their fragile world by running from reality.

Not sure what was posted there originally, or on what part of that site, but the Australian inquiry discussion is now in an existing "child abuse" thread in the "Alt News" part of the forum, which is behind the log-in.

This matches up with previous protocol on the site, where negative news stories regarding JWs (especially child abuse) are moved by the mods from a public part of the site to behind the log-in.

Can't have the public seeing negative factual information about JWs!!

Let's hope they come here to find out about it all.

As per respectful_observer's post It's not been deleted. It's been merged with another existing thread on child abuse. There was another thread that was on a public part of the site last week regarding the BBC Radio 4 and BBC News report that went behind the portcullis as well.

You can tell there are some on the site, whether fifth column or not, who would be happy to discuss problems within the organisation in an open and honest way but there is very, very little room for debate. Any posts that even hint at organisational failure are quickly jumped on and posters either put in their place or even banned.
