Why is Oral Sex not to be Reported to Elders?

  Oral Sex is a disfellowshiping offence among Jehovahs Witnesses

  All disfellowshiping offences are to be reported to the congregations P.O.and a Judicial meeting is scheduled

  In the article that follows, this proceedure is violated as regards Oral Sex. Why?
  As you will see, no mention is made to REPORT this offence. It mearly states...."if it comes to the attention of the Elders"...or....if a person OPENLY talks about it to others.
  The question then is....Why are the rules broken in this case? Why is it not stated that one must REPORT this matter?

  Because as potatoes go, this is a hot one, and they don't want to be accused of invasion of privacy.

  It's also interesting that the practice is not enough by itself to get one df'ed; according to your cite, its the "practice and advocacy," apparently in combination, that are required. I always did find that particular wording to be interesting. What it apparently means is, don't bother trying to pry into people's bedroom affairs, but if anyone starts making noise about it, they're fair game!

  Hey NM, nice post,

  I remember in COC RayF. said when the older article was written on this that the service desk was bombarded with marriage couples calling in frantically. At one time this offence was grounds for divorce...within the marriage. Later it was changed to mean...outside the marriage.

  I see it as something they are not too sure about and so word it in the way the article described.

  Heathen.....that's my point. This practiced is supposed to be such a serious sin.....yet they do not encourage a person to report it, as they do with practices just as wrong in their eyes.
