Orange County Public Witnessing has a website up and running.

    http://ocpw.org/

The PW "reminders" (rules) are simplified on this website:

    http://ocpw.weebly.com/reminders.html

    REMINDERS
PLEASE Keep Your cell phone ON & on your person at ALL times while in PW.
If You're scheduled for ANY morning shift. Please meet at the KINGDOM HALL field service meeting.
When displaying the MAGAZINES, PLEASE DISPLAY BOTH the Watchtower & Awake!
And PLEASE "double them" by placing the single Watchtowers in the Awakes when displaying on the cart (the Watchtowers already come shipped with the Awake! magazine inside).
Be sure people understand that "either" magazine already have the other one in there.
Publicize jw.org at every opportunity possible

    BE EFFECTIVE
Smile and say hello to people. Be friendly. The more approachable you present yourself, the more effective you will be.
Show with your body language that literature is free and available: Hold a few in one hand, and hold one out with the other hand.
Do not engage people; let them engage you.
Prepare a one sentence summary of what you're offering to answer the question "So what's this all about?"
Do not hesitate to get into a conversation with someone who shows interest.
Use your Bible to answer a Bible question.
Use jw.org on your mobile device freely for foreign languages, or to show interested ones how they can find answers to Bible Questions.
PLEASE take extra care with your dress and grooming whenever engaging in Public Witnessing.
Be familiar with jw.org & its features and tell people about it. People who hesitate to converse with us or pick up literature, may be more inclined to investigate the website.
    WIDELY PUBLICIZE JW.ORG

Donations: In this setting, publishers should NOT ACCEPT ANY MONIES OR DONATIONS. If visitors insist on making a donation or inquire about how our work is funded, publishers should direct them to jw.org

The media: PLEASE DO NOT GIVE AN INTERVIEW OR ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE INTERVIEWED.
Explain that we have a wonderful message to share but would like to set up an appointment if an interview is being requested. Ask for a business card and inform the individual that they will be contacted with further information. They can also be directed to jw.org for additional information about the work of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Yep, most JWs ain't smart enough to witness extemporaneously. They gotta have the script just like the demos during the Service Meeting.

I have found a few more PW sites that are up and running - some of them you have to login to view the content - so, for anybody interested in the content on the first website, you should grab it before it is made into a login only site.

I loved this post on one of those websites "One Tuesday morning session, Nicole and I counted 250 different people walk by our cart! That's a lot more than we would encounter door to door."

I wonder how many of those 250 different people even noticed or remembered seeing the cart ladies? Yes, you encountered more people, but did you make an impact?

The impact of the PW is measured in public exposure. The carts are simply public advertising - it is cheaper than a billboard, I guess. And...the WT doesn't advertise in any other mainstream venue so they have to design their own advertising campaign. The PW is how the JWs are promoting the jw..org site.

    FOUR EYE CONTACTS FROM PEOPLE:
    1. If a passer-by does not look at you or literature - Just smile as they walk by.
    2. If a passer-by gives a quick look - Smile and extend a brief greeting.
    3. If a passer-by gives a constant stare at you or the carts - Smile and extend a general invitation to the cart. "Would you like something to read?"
    4. If a passer-by gives a look and then stops at the cart - Engage in conversation with the goal of starting a bible study.

And, it is a handy way to identify the "bad guys" for the elders:

What to do if an inactive one approaches to the cart:
Jehovah has not forgotten them. (Psalms 119:176)
Get their contact information and give to one of the elders as soon as possible.

Get their contact information and give to one of the elders as soon as possible.
What to do if a disfellowshipped person approaches cart:
Get their contact information and give to one of the elders as soon as possible. No need for further discussion.

I guess that "eye contact" is really important:

Made eye contact and said hello to many people. One man looked at the cart and walked inside and then came back out and asked if he could take a publication.
